Our Story

Our story begins with Jennice, the passionate and determined force behind Hot Stuff. After retiring, she found herself restless and craving more out of life. Inspired by her grandmother's homestyle cooking and her dear friend Miss Shirley's culinary flair, Jennice embarked on a mission to bring the comfort of home-cooked meals to downtown Baton Rouge. Her dream became a reality when Hot Stuff opened its doors in July of 2024. Nestled conveniently near the Mississippi River and I10 in the space once inhabited by the iconic original Tabby’s Blues Box, it's not just a restaurant; it's an experience. Come visit Jennice at Hot Stuff, where every dish is served with a side of Southern hospitality.

My Cup Runneth Over

Ever wondered about the story behind the hanging coffee cups or the phrase “My Cup Runneth Over” displayed on our wall?

We love collecting coffee mugs from across the country and around the world, each one with its own unique story.

Next time you visit, bring in a mug from a different state and receive a special treat as our way of saying thanks for adding to our cozy, homey atmosphere. And if you happen to bring a mug from outside the country - especially from Israel - you might just get your entire meal for free!
